When you tell Claire to stand up, this is how she tries.

While I make dinner, this is her new favorite thing to do. 

Cooper Kindergarten

Now that school is about to start again, I'm just wanted to mention what a fantastic Kindergarten teacher Cooper had.  She was so organized and on top of everything.  He loved kindergarten and I loved helping in his class.  He really excelled in her class.  We are so thankful he had such a great first year experience.

The one on the left was done in early October.  The one on the right was done in April.

What a difference!

1 year old Claire

This little munchkin turned 1 today.  It is a bittersweet for me.  I love this stage of exploring and learning but I hate that she is growing out of the baby stage.  It all went too fast.

Some things about Claire

She still has no teeth and no hair.  I think they are having a race to see which can come in the slowest.  I think hair might win considering there is one tiny tooth starting to poke through.

 She loved her skirt and just wanted to play/eat it the whole time.

She will point at everything and I LOVE how her finger and wrist bend just a bit when she does so.

We will ask her to find the moon and she looks to the sky and points at it every time.

Just like the day she was born, her tongue is always out.

She just barely started trying to walk but only if we hold both of her hands.  

She gets this worried look when we let go of one.

She loves her Daddy and gets so excited when she sees him after work. 

She can wave hi, play peek-a-boo, pretend sneeze, clap, say Mama/Dada, and give kisses/hugs.

She LOVES her brothers and gives them hugs by leaning over and squeezing their head while I hold her.

When we say no, no, no she shakes her said at us and grins.

She will scream if I leave the room.

She is starting to throw fits and arch her back (not my favorite).

With that being said, she is almost always happy and such a joy to everyone around her.

The First Cake

At first she just patted it.

Then she just wanted to tip it off the plate.

Then Daddy stepped in and gave her her first bite...

...it was all downhill from there.

My Little Family of Readers

I LOVE that I have pictures of all of my kids reading.  

Their love of books started at a very young age and so far it has continued with the older ones.

Their cute, fat little bodies just sitting and reading makes my heart happy!

My Kids

Every once in a while, I get around to taking pictures of my own kids.

And every once in a while, I get around to posting them. 

So here's to that "once in a while".

Unfortunately Claire was like this for most of the pictures which is so unlike her but she was just starting to get sick.  Dang it!

This kid's faces get me every time!

I just want to squeeze him!

These two are the best of friends! 

As I said before, Claire was being a bit of grump for these pictures and the only way we could cheer her up was to play her favorite song by Walk off the Earth, Trouble.
