Both my boys have a thing for pirates right now. They came up with the peg leg all on their own.

Concentration
This kid's got it! He loves to color and spends quite a bit of time doing it.
And you may have also noticed that he is a lefty...oh joy!

Slip n' Slide Fun
I seriously loved slip n' slides when I was young. They were the best! You got all covered with grass, you ran as hard as you could, and you tried to make it all the way to the end without sliding off. Well, I got the boys one today and I think they loved it just as much as I did! Coop started getting the hang of it (almost made it to the end) and Carter (after many slips) just enjoyed walking it. Every time Carter would slip and fall, he would say, "Mom, I did it!" I love playing with these boys!
The last clip of Carter when he falls, he is sitting there laughing...not crying :-)

Now I'm wondering where I can get an adult sized one!

Water Fun
We absolutely, positively LOVE when Grandma and Papa are in town! We pack the days full of fun and the kids have a blast playing with them. Thanks for making the long trek down here so often! It is very much appreciated!
The Terrible Twosome
The Other Terrible Twosome basking in the sun
The little boys were splashing Grandpa and so Grandpa would splash back.
This is them wiping their eyes so they can splash him again.

Sports
Coop's (and eventually Carter's) room is a vintage sports theme and one of the decorations I wanted for the walls was poster size prints of them playing sports. I finally got out to do it and here are a few of the shots I liked. The ones I ended up using are at the bottom.
So, what do you think?
A Face only a Mother could love
I walked into this one afternoon and just had to laugh. I really do think its cute but I know that it is not to anyone else who looks at it.
Its just because he's mine!
Orem Summerfest
cotton candy. sticky fingers. snow cones. smiles. too-expensive-carnival-rides. sitting on blankets. parade. covering ears for firetrucks. meeting up with friends. waving at the floats. dancing to the bands.
Ya, we had a good time!

Date Night
Coop and I went on a date the other night. I love my time with him. He so appreciates when I take him places by himself. When I told him we were going on a date he thought about it for a sec, leaned against the car with his arms folded and said, "Wow, Mom. I've never been on a date before!" I told him he's only allowed to go on dates with me for now :-)
This was right up Coop's alley. He loves art projects and coloring.
He was so intent on doing a good job! Such focus!
Here's one of the projects he painted.
Then out to eat after.
Super fun night!
Oh, I had a Birthday
Isn't it funny how birthdays become less of a big deal as you get older? I look more forward to my boys birthdays than my own. Anyway, I celebrated my 27th birthday with my girls. We ate at Malawi's Pizza (yum!) and then headed over to Kathleen's for some chit chatting around the bonfire. It really was just what I wanted for my birthday!

Swimming Lessons
Coop started swim lessons today. He has been asking and asking and asking when it would start so he was super excited that today was the day!!
What a difference a year makes! There is no way Coop would have put his head under last year but something clicked this year and voila, he's becoming a little fish!

The Little Gym
Coop had a grand time attending his class at the little gym. It was half sports half gymnastics.
Here's a short clip of their last class. He did well with all the activities but what made me most proud was how well he listened and always followed directions. That's my boy!

A Sweet Moment
This may look like just another ordinary picture to most of you, but let me point out the pivotal point.
Carter is sharing his special, can't-live-without-it, sleeps-with-it-every-night blanket with Coop. Normally he would not let Coop lay a finger on this coveted blankie but he even went so far as to put it on his feet for him. Now that is brotherly love!
I wish I could say that this happens a lot...but I guess we're still learning how to be kind to each other.
This is a start!

Look, I'm just like Daddy!
I came upstairs the other day to see this.
He had put Caleb's clothes on and said, "Look Mom, I'm just like Daddy now!"
Along these same lines, Cooper has been told by a couple of people that he is now The Man of the House while Daddy's gone. The other day, he took that to heart when I told him he couldn't go outside and he quickly responded, "Mom, I am the man of the house so I get to decide!" Wow, what do you say to that?!
J-E-L-L-O
Jigglers!
We were at the store and Coop insisted we get the blue Jello so we could make it at home.
But 4 hours is a LONG time for a 4 year old to wait for something to be done! I can't tell you how many times he asked if it was ready. Oh well, it was worth the wait and we all had a good time.
Silly boys!
