9 Months Old

Coop is 9 months old. He is one happy, fun-loving boy. I just love hanging out with him all day. Nothing can make me smile more than his cute face!

Organizing!

I just love to organize. I love the before and after and the sense of accomplishment! It's just a bit harder to get it done as quickly now that I have a little distraction scootin around ;-)

New York, New York

Over Presidents' Day Weekend, we hopped a flight to New York to visit Caleb's sister who recently moved there. Caleb had never been so it was fun seeing all the sights of New York.

The first few subway rides were a bit confusing but we got the hang of it after a while.

A street artist. I must admit that when he started we thought He must be new, this isn't very good. But as you can see, the final product was amazing and it was all done with Spray paint.

The delayed flight home

He was smiling at every person who passed our seat. He didn't care that our orginal flight had been canceled making us pay $70 to transfer to another airport, making us leave 3 hours later...but he did care after 3 hours on this flight that I did not have enough food for him. That's when the 4 1/2 hour flight seemed like 4 1/2 days for both us and the people around us. Dang Delta!

My First Haircut

I know that many of you are thinking to yourselves "Haircut? I didn't think Coop had any hair to cut!" Yet, he did have a few long strands and he looks so handsome now with his new haircut. Here's a little play by play of the event.

Happy Birthday Caleb!

This past Friday, Jan. 11th, we celebrated Caleb's birthday by having a surprise Ultimate Frisbee game at night in the snow. I wish now that we could have taken some action shots of the intense game but you wouldn't have seen much anyway, so here are some pics of the events follwing the game. For those who are interested in playing again (Primosch's & Hornes), we'd love to take you on anytime...you just name the place.

Riddle me this, Batman!

Alright, listen to my story and if you have any ideas, please feel free to tell me. I'm all ears.

So, Cooper goes down at 8:00 or 8:30. He goes down so great. We walk up the stairs with his binkie and blanket, he lays his head down on my shoulder and closes his eyes. I cuddle him for a few seconds and lay him down. Then he goes to sleep. Sounds ideal doesn't it? Not quite. Exactly 45 minutes later he wakes up and has a really hard time going back to sleep. So we go give him his binkie and he calms down. Then I go downstairs and 10 minutes later, we do it all over again. It happens 4-5 times before he finally goes to sleep for good and and doesn't wake up again till 8:30am. So why is he waking up after going down so well? I've tried letting him cry it out for 15 minutes but then he 's even more awake when I go up to calm him. I've thought that it's gas so I gave him gripe water and milicon drops and nothing works. I even tried giving him tylenol because I thought he was teething but that didn't work either. Any suggestions? I am at the end of my rope.

Nothing big happened, no first time anything, but I just thought they were cute ;-)

Coop has started this thing where he squints his eyes and gives this super cheesy grin. It's the cutest thing ever! I just can't help but smile when I see it!

Our Trip to Banff

Over the break, Caleb & I had the opportunity to go to Banff, Canada with my parents and brother. It was super fun! We got to ski/snowboard every day and I think I really improved. I actually made it down the mountain a couple times without falling, it was great! Here are quite a few pictures that tell a little bit about our trip.

Caleb & I on the slopes. The temperature averaged between 5 & 12 and boy could you feel it. It was freezing!

The 3 sisters. Our hotel was actually on 3 Sisters Drive.

They had a heated pool and hot tub and Coop absolutely loved it! We took him swimming this past summer lots of times and he liked it but nothing like this. It was so fun!

We went to visit a castle that was turned into a hotel. The place was huge and very glamorous! This was the view from it's balcony.

On New Years Eve, the little ski village we were staying in held a little get-together on an iced-over pond. There was music, dancing, hot chocolate, & fireworks. There's something about a small town celebration that just makes it feel so homey.

Once again, let me remind you that it was only 8 degrees! Notice our red noses and cheeks.

While eating out at different restraunts during our trip, we would keep Coop happy by letting him drink out of a straw. He would do it for hours if we let him.

Yes, we did drive there (14 hours) and sometimes, there just wasn't a gas station to change diapers in. Cooper didn't even mind the cold draft with the door open.

14 hours in the car and he's still this happy? We couldn't have a better baby!
