A Birthday Bash

So it couldn't be called the perfect day, but it was pretty darn close. Coop woke up with a temperature the day of his birthday bash and therefore was a little on the whiney side throughout the whole thing. Nevertheless, I think he'd say the family, the food, and the presents really made the party great!
...
Homemade, lemon-filled cupcakes...mmmmm!
(It took many hours to make them, but I loved every minute!)

...
Look closely in the first 3 pics. Turns out Coop is a big fan of fire and when I finally blew out his candle, he was not a happy camper! He was however, much happier when he found out he could eat it! And boy did he eat it! He downed that puppy in seconds! ...
Presents, presents, and more presents! Question, which did he love more, ripping the paper or the actual present?...
Grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles; it wouldn't have been a party without family!

Happy Birthday Coop! 1 whole year old! WOW!

We had a ball!

It was a night to remember! Even after his ski accident, Caleb still took me out on the town, (up to Thanksgiving point for dinner). Then up to the new Hinkley building for the Alumni Ball. It was fun to see the beautiful building and dance to the live band. My favorite part was trying to copy all the moves of the 70 year old couple dancing next to us. They were so cute! Here are a few pics of the night. Most are from before we left since we forgot the camera while there.

And they lived happily ever after!

New Dance Moves

I know I've posted a video of Coop dancing before but his newest move (one hand in the air) just cracks me up. Enjoy! (Sorry it's sideways, didn't realize till afterwards, but it was too cute not to post!)

Ok, so here is another one of the "not-so-interesting-since-Cooper-is-not-involved" posts, so if that's not what you're here for, come back tomorrow. On Friday, April 11, I was skiing at Alta with my good buddy Jake. After skiing quite a few good runs, we journeyed to The Backside. I had my huckin' shoes on these last couple days, so when Jake lined up this cliff and sent it himself, I couldn't resist. Jake used his photography prowess to catch this poetry in motion. Although the picture doesn't tell you, I will provide the rest of the details.

.
And now, the rest of the story.

After the picture, I landed and skied out of the cliff drop. I waited as Jake put the camera away, and then we skied the rest of the line. Jake had pointed out a little wind lip at the bottom of the run, and I skied toward it. As I hit the small jump, I started drifting forward and landed way in the front seat. I immediately somersaulted over my ski tips. The skis did not release, and I felt my knee pop. Once I stopped tumbling, and saying a few choice words, Jake skied up to see how I was doing. When I tried to stand I felt a sharp, shooting pain in my ribs near my sternum. I fell back to the ground, feeling nauseous and on the verge of passing out. I ended up making it to Ski Patrol, who took me to the Alta Medical Clinic. I got x-rays and I had fractured my rib, partially collapsed my lung, and had damaged my meniscus (in the knee). Jake took me to the emergency room in Provo where further tests were ran. I am doing better, but taking it easy.

My Weekend Away

This past weekend, I was able to get away (Thank you Caleb!) to go to a volleyball tournament up in Moab. It was super fun to play so much volleyball and to spend some "Just Me" time without Coop. Please don't look too closely at the pictures, remember, it was a volleyball tournament, therefore there is no makeup, no trendy clothes, no done-up hair, just sweaty old me. We ended up taking 5th in the tournament, which is not bad considering between us all there are 16 kids (2 of which are only 2 months old). Just a bunch of Moms having a weekend off!
...
Team picture after our last game (I think we played somewhere close to 20 games between Friday night and Saturday. To say the least I was a bite sore ;-)

...
Between games, we had a corner set up in the gym to relax in till our next game.

...
This is Matt & Mario (husbands of 2 players on our team) who came along to hold the two 2 month olds while their wives played.

He loves me!

What is this you might ask?

...
Oh, just something that was waiting for me when I got home tonight. Caleb said the horse and buggy mailman brought it late.
Yes, that's right, I am going to a Ball with my prince. I've been dying to go to one ever since I saw Enchanted (it may sound lame, but I love cheesy things like that). I think I mentioned it once and my huddy-dubby researched it and found one just for me. Boy am I lucky!
