It's raining, it's pouring...

The best part about the storms in the midwest is that when it rains it pours and you get just as wet whether you go in it or the pool.

Freedom Festival

Another fun weekend in Indy! It's called the Fishers Freedom Festival. There were arts and crafts booths (our good friend Betty sold some super cute homemade books), dog shows, festival food, kids craft tents, a parade, and fireworks. We had a great time!

Coop drinking a cold one while walking around the booths, a police dog demonstration, and a very talented Betty & her books.

Hanging out at the parade.
Thought these ladies were pretty funny and look at this miniature semi...so fun!

Family pic at the fireworks show. (kids are already in pj's since it was 10:00)

Just like Daddy

Sullivan's

When we were engaged, I went out to visit Caleb in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He surprised me while I was there and took me to Chicago where we had a fun filled day going to an aquarium, seeing a professional soccer game, and going to Wicked. Before the show, we went to a place called Sullivan's Steakhouse. It was there that I first experienced the goodness of steak! So Caleb, being the romantic that he is, found us a Sullivan's Steakhouse here in Indy and surprised me with a night out for our 4th Anniversary. Because of a little miscommunication, we were the only ones seated in the dining room so it turned out to be just a romantic dinner for 2. The appetizers were interesting (didn't know that a "bisque" was just cold soup), the filets were beyond delicious, and the key lime pie dessert was to die for. Such a great night!

No one else here...great for us!

Before we headed out.

And we can't forget to mentiont the gifts! So Caleb and I follow the "Traditional Anniversary Gift Ideas" (you can google it to find out what yours would be). This year's theme was fruit and flowers. Caleb surprised me with a "flowery" dress (complete with rose petals leading to the closet, our song playing, and a slideshow of us pictures).
I got him an "Edible Arrangement" consisting of fruit cut into flowers and arranged into a beautiful bouquet. Not only was it beautful, but it was soooooo tasty!

And lastly, every year I try to make a mini-version of our wedding cake. I think I've gotten a bit better since our first anniversary HA! Feel free to laugh because I totally am!

Orem Summerfest

Talk about a whoppin good time! I'm so glad we just happened to be back in Utah for this fun event. Since we have been gone every summer for the past 5 years, I'd never even heard of this but turns out Orem has a pretty fun carnival. Although Coop had a very solemn face for every ride, he was asking to go back on the second they stopped. And to add to the fun, he got to ride with his cousins. Couldn't get much better than that!

Carter chillin with his cousin Beckham...who is 4 months older :-)
(I think the only thing that gives it away is the hair!)
Thanks to the time difference, my kids were totally off schedule. This picture was taken at 11pm Utah time which means 1am Indy time...and he's still happy as a clam!

Baby Liam

I took some pictures of my new nephew Liam while I was visiting Utah and thought I'd share a few. He was a whoppin 9 lbs 11 oz. Sounds huge but he's still a little guy.

Happy Father's Day!

I couldn't resist getting Caleb and the boys matching ties for Father's Day. Call me cheesy but I still think they look dang cute together!

Happy Father's Day babe!

Thumb-Sucker?

I don't know how I feel about this...

Ady's Favorite Person

Coop's good friend Ady is a little stubborn about walking. She can, she just prefers her faster method of crawling. Since Coop is one of her favorite people, he has been helping her strengthen those skinny little legs. I think it's about the most precious thing I've ever seen.

I wish...

I wish I looked this cute when I woke up with bed head!

Take me out to the Ball Game!

There's something about sitting on the grass on a warm Saturday night watching a baseball game while eating hot dogs and nachos that just shouts American pastime. I personally couldn't tell you who won that game but I can tell you that we had a blast taking pictures, talking with friends, and just chillaxin the night away. The night was even made a bit more exciting by the major storm that hit right at the bottom of the 9th. Now I'm not talking a sprinkle, I'm talking immediate puddles forming, clothes soaked after 20 seconds, run for cover because you're gonna get struck by lightning kind of storm. It was NUTS! Good thing we had the stroller and our outdoor, waterproof blanket to keep the kids dry but we were dripping wet by the time we got to the car. What an experience!

The wives

Coop absolutely adores Betty! Here she is rolling down the hill with him.
There's nothing better than watching somebody else love your kids!
So soaked!!!
Flyin' around!

ZOO

I love going to the zoo, I always have. But now there is an added pleasure; Coop. He is at that age where he is so interested and fascinated by everything. Along with some wives in the office, we hit up the Indy Zoo and had a blast.

Coop got his face painted with a dolphin and absolutely loved it. I told him to sit real still while the guy painted it on and boy did he sit still. The kid didn't move an inch the whole time. After, he kept pointing at his face and saying "Dolphin, see!" Next time we go, we're doing the full face lion!
The wives at the dolphin show. I'd say it was comparable to Sea World, just a lot shorter.
(And don't mind the giant in this picture....me! Seriously, I didn't think I was that much taller!)

One of the things I loved about this zoo was how hands on you could be. Coop got to pet a shark, an elephant, and feed a giraffe. What a cool experience for a kid. Heck, what a cool experience for me!
This was his face pretty much the whole time. He kept saying, "Look at this! Look at this!"
The only downfall of the day was not having Daddy there with us.

What a perfect day!
