My Kids

Every once in a while, I get around to taking pictures of my own kids.
And every once in a while, I get around to posting them.
So here's to that "once in a while".

Unfortunately Claire was like this for most of the pictures which is so unlike her but she was just starting to get sick.  Dang it!

This kid's faces get me every time!
I just want to squeeze him!

These two are the best of friends!

As I said before, Claire was being a bit of grump for these pictures and the only way we could cheer her up was to play her favorite song by Walk off the Earth, Trouble.

Red Rock Relay

Team Name: In-laws & Out-laws
Distance: 64 miles
Time: 10 hours
Location: Beautiful Moab
Amount of Fun: Tons
Really though, no kids, hanging with the siblings, and in Moab.  Sounds like a good weekend to me!

We tried to give Caleb some of the easier runs (he's not a big fan of running, even though he's dang good at it)...but somehow he got 4 miles of uphill switch backs.  It was truly terrible.  But he made it through and is alive to tell the tale today.

Coop is 6

For the past 2 months my boys have been OBSESSED with this iPad game, Plants vs Zombies.  Its all they ever talk about and they will do anything (chores, extra chores, etc) to play it.  Coop decided he wanted his birthday to have this theme and I thought it would be fairly simple to put together.  Wrong!  I was originally going to have 5 life size zombies but after the first 2 took me 6 hours to freehand draw, trace, & paint I decided 2 would be plenty.  Then Caleb filled up 97 water balloons to shoot them with and we were set to go.

All his little friends getting ready to shoot the zombies.

After the boys threw water balloons at the cardboard zombies, Caleb was the last "Gargantuan" Zombie and the boys all threw water balloons at him.  They LOVED this.  Their little arms couldn't quite throw them hard enough so Caleb would catch them and throw them right back at 'em.  It was great fun to watch!

We ended the party with a water gun fight.  This party was ALL-boy!

I love my big 6 year old!
