Gundy Family Reunion

McCall, Idaho
My parents discovered this amazing cabin in McCall Idaho right near Payette Lake for our Gundy Family Reunion this year.  The kicker was that it housed all 16 adults and 20 grandkids perfectly and because of that, we will be heading there again in 2 years and possibly every 2 years after that.  As usual, it was a blast!  Activities were as follows:

Boating
*Unfortunately every time we went out, we forgot the camera.  However, that does not mean we did not have a super fun time while on the boat.  Every time I go wake-boarding, I forget how much I really enjoy it!  Caleb got up and really started to enjoy it as well.  And the boys just loved being on the boat and jumping in the water in between the wakeboarders.  I can't wait to go again...anyone have a boat?

Gundy Cook-off
Secret Ingredient: Basil
I learned that I really like pesto and garlic can really give food a kick if you put enough in :-)
Mmmmm, yummmy!

The Great Race
Our 3rd one so far put on by our wonderful, fantastic, creative parents.  We had to capture all of the below things on camera within 2 hours and then produce a video presentation that night:
-5 Random acts of kindness
-Pictures of bugs, animals, monuments

-Word puzzle about our parents' past
-Trivia about McCall Idaho

-All team members fully submersing the lake
-Someone on the team getting eaten by the lake monster

AND...
my favorite part of all...
-making our own fire...without matches.
This was about the coolest thing I've learned to do in a long while.
My oldest brother Jason taught us all how the day before the race.  The tinder, buster board, and bow were included in our Great Race kits and so as part of the race, we had to start our own fire, roast 2 hot dogs on it, and each take a bite.
So take a look at that beautiful match-free fire.  Ya, I made that!

Making Ice Cream
This was such a cool idea by my sister.  You put little ziplocks full of milk, sugar, and vanilla inside big ziplocks full of ice and rock salt.  Then you have the kids play catch with them and...
voila, you have home-made ice cream!

Mini Olympics
Water Balloon Launching was part of this.  Some of our team had to stand at set intervals and catch the launched waterballoon with a towel.  The grankids had a blast being able to shoot these...so did the big kids!

Being with Each Other
Of course, what are family reunions all about!

Can't wait till next time!
