Teotihuacan Pyramids

3.17.14
I know you all are hoping for another action packed story like the last post but I'm afraid this one is pretty dull in comparison.  We took my parents to see thTeotihuacan Pyramids.  We got there with no problems and no traffic.  It was a sunny day with a nice breeze creating perfect weather.  There was quite a bit of walking involved but the boys had a good time climbing all the steps.  The Pyramid of the Sun is one of the tallest pyramids in Latin America.  It is said that when you climb to the top you receive energy.  We would have liked to climb to the top but because it was at the end of our time there and the boys were starving, we weren't able to.  We will definitely be returning to try again.

I have seen this twice now and have no idea why they do it or what the story is behind it but its really quite amazing.  They dance and play their instruments around the pole (pole dancing ;-), climb the pole, dance and play their instruments on the top of the pole, then attach themselves to some ropes and hang upside down while swinging around the pole.  As they swing, (they are still playing their instruments) they get lower and lower to the ground.  I would really like to find out what they are doing and why.

Look closely and see that Claire is holding Caleb's hand.  It was cute for the first minute, but if Caleb tried to let go, she threw a fit until he gave it back to her.  His arm was a little tired by the end of the day.

Carter is becoming quite the photographer.  Always wanting to take pictures, just like his mama.

The next 4 are pictures he took.

Claire giving Daddy loves.

A little lunch at the pyramids...nothing that great.

Sharing ice cream.

"Let me see your pretty smile."

Yay for a successful, non-eventful trip in Mexico.
