Carter's 3!

Carter's question every day for the past couple weeks has been, "Mom, am I 3 yet?"  Finally the day arrived when I could tell him that he was indeed, three!  Sheer excitement ensued as he ran laps around the kitchen shouting to everyone that he was three.  We were and are sorely disappointed that we did not have the video camera rolling at the time.  It was quite the site to behold.
Some things about Carter:
  • If I let him choose what he wore everyday it would be this spiderman shirt and his swimming shorts.  He used to throw a fit when I made him wear normal clothes but now he just puts on what I want and then later puts what he wants on top...as seen in the picture below.
Spiderman big boys!

  • He has been in love with Cooper's froggy boots since the day Coop got them for his birthday so we got him a pair of his own...less fighting over who gets to wear them now.
  • On some days, we will realize that he has put on not just 1 pair of big boys, but 6.  Not quite sure why, maybe he has a hard time choosing between them and would just rather wear them all at once but he thinks he's pretty funny when we finally realize.
froggy boots and more big boys...he was in desperate need of some new ones in a bigger size ;-)  The other ones really put the tight in tighty-whities.

  • Carter LOVES "puzzle games" as he puts it.  He has 5 puzzles now that he will get out and put together all on his own.  His favorite of the 5 are the 2 Spiderman ones. (He has never actually seen a Spiderman episode but for some reason he is in love with him.)
  • He has the best hair ever!  It just keeps getting curlier and curlier.  He gets compliments on it daily.

  • Nearly every night he says he doesn't like what we are having for dinner but once I force him to take a bite, he'll finish the whole thing.
  • He's a BIG kid.  95% for weight and 91% for height.  Unfortunately he still thinks he needs to be carried around.

  • When Carter points to something, he turns his head to the side and points with his eyes and his finger. I'm still trying to get it on camera because its really hilarious.
  • This boy can talk like no other 3 year old I know.  Its nice at times but sometimes he just talks and talks and talks just to hear himself.  It also makes him the slowest eater I know because he has to talk in between every bite.

  • When referring to himself he says, "My" instead of "I".  For example he will say, "Mom, my is hungry!"  Caleb has taken up this habit as well now.
  • Carter loves his big brother and wants to do everything he does.

  • He loves to wrestle and jump like every other little boy but he has a bit of an advantage with his size.
  • He has the exact same size head as Cooper and it looks even bigger because of his hair.

  • He loves books of all kinds and loves to "read" them to me while Cooper is reading his books.

  • He is very particular about his bedtime routine.  I have to spread out his blanket over his pillow, give him a hug and a kiss, and say "Night, night, I love you." before I leave his room or he will freak out crying until I come back and finish the routine.  If I do all those things, he goes to bed no problem.

  •  Lastly, he's gonna be one of those kids I can't get mad at.  He knows he's cute and the second he flashes that smile at me I can't help but laugh.  He's a keeper!
