Ok, so here is another one of the "not-so-interesting-since-Cooper-is-not-involved" posts, so if that's not what you're here for, come back tomorrow. On Friday, April 11, I was skiing at Alta with my good buddy Jake. After skiing quite a few good runs, we journeyed to The Backside. I had my huckin' shoes on these last couple days, so when Jake lined up this cliff and sent it himself, I couldn't resist. Jake used his photography prowess to catch this poetry in motion. Although the picture doesn't tell you, I will provide the rest of the details.
.
And now, the rest of the story.
After the picture, I landed and skied out of the cliff drop. I waited as Jake put the camera away, and then we skied the rest of the line. Jake had pointed out a little wind lip at the bottom of the run, and I skied toward it. As I hit the small jump, I started drifting forward and landed way in the front seat. I immediately somersaulted over my ski tips. The skis did not release, and I felt my knee pop. Once I stopped tumbling, and saying a few choice words, Jake skied up to see how I was doing. When I tried to stand I felt a sharp, shooting pain in my ribs near my sternum. I fell back to the ground, feeling nauseous and on the verge of passing out. I ended up making it to Ski Patrol, who took me to the Alta Medical Clinic. I got x-rays and I had fractured my rib, partially collapsed my lung, and had damaged my meniscus (in the knee). Jake took me to the emergency room in Provo where further tests were ran. I am doing better, but taking it easy.

Bites, that is so not cool to hear. I hope you recover ( and learn a lesson). Cassi, start pulling in the reigns. That's scary.
Don't be like the crocodile hunter! We don't want to lose you doing something you love! For real!!!!
